It has been such a blessing having a studio during the pandemic. Our creative outlet space. Here are some photos of our space.

We are located and apart of the INCubator Chattanooga Area Chamber. The INCubator is dedicated to helping small businesses grow. They provide shared administrative services, manufacturing and office space, training workshops, use of the state-of-the-art Technology Conference Center, and access to free onsite business counseling from the Tennessee Small Business Development Center. It can be a three-year program if we want it to be!

It has been so lovely getting to have a space to be creative in. We are so excited to see what is to come.

Introducing the Fallon's

Hi,

Hannah here

So you see I’m in love…. I’m in love with ALL THINGS GREEN. The Fallon earrings are inspired by my love of the color, vintage gold, and the simplicity of elegance.

Sara-Anne and I have both struggle with perfection. Trying to reach perfection is never going to happen and we know that but we still “try”. I love these earrings so much because of the imperfection of the checkered print. Also look at the imperfect gold vintage post. We pick these out intentionally.

This design is us surrendering to perfection. We always give our all when it comes to designing and making. Our motto is always giving 110%.

As I like to say:

If I were a pair of earrings, I’d be this one.

It's gorgeous and so very elegant.  Goodness! Who wouldn’t want to sleep in a Oscar de la Renta piece. And then want to wear it out because it needs to be seen.

We hope you love it as much as we do!

The August Sisters talks about Joy's

Joy’s United Gift Shop

Location: 77 Tennessee Street Ringgold, Ga.

Sara-Anne & I have been going to Joy’s basically our whole lives. We love everything about it! Joy Thornton the owner of Joy’s United Gift Shop has become a dear friend of ours. And she has amazing creativity and taste. Every time we step foot in Joy’s we come out full handed! Sometimes I feel like we are buying the whole store. Her shop is a gem for sure. We highly recommend it. The August Sisters normally don’t like to give away our secrets but we think that vintage stores should not ever be kept a secret. They need to be shared and Joy’s is one of those places that you just have to see for yourself. There is so much to see and find. The hunt is way too much fun there. We always find something spectacular.

Joy started her shop in 1998 and stayed open until 2003. She decided to close it for two years and then reopened it back up in 2006 and it is still open. Joy’s United Gift Shop has been open in total of 16 years. Wow. That’s incredible! Go Joy!

Sara-Anne & I just recently went to Ringgold’s vintage market they have from time to time. And our first stop was Joy’s. We had a blast. We actually found some incredible pieces for our shop and also for ourselves. We both can’t wait to show you what we found. Hint: there might, possibly be a Oscar de La Renta night gown in there. Eek! We found some incredible and funky one of a kind jewelry pieces as well.

We are really enjoy sharing our vintage experiences and one of a kind finds with you! We can’t wait to see what ya’ll think.

We love ya’ll!

Xoxo,

Hannah, The August Sisters

The August Sisters

Hi Hannah here,

Sara-Anne & I love anything and everything vintage especially when vintage is made well.

One of a kind.

I love a good story and I believe vintage items/pieces always have a story to tell. Wonder who once wore that? What was her life story? Did she live out every dream she had? Goodness! So much mystery. So much stories... I long for them. If I find anything out about the items/pieces I'll definitely let you know about them. I might even blog about them and if not I'll put what I find in the descriptions of the products. But, I love that you can own something that once was someones else's and now YOU can live out your every own story. And maybe you might pass it on. Pass down to someone you love or maybe even someone random. Who knows?

So this is what The August Sisters are all about. We are going to find beautiful well crafted vintage finds from all over and blog about them as well as sell some! We are only going to find pieces that we love, only we would want to have or want to wear. Exclusive. We're all about one of a kind. Sara-Anne & I like to start our own trends and express ourselves through vintage finds and clothing. We both hope you love what we bring to the shop.

We love the thrill of the hunt, the thrill of finding something absolutely incredible. We applause it. We swoon over it. Seek out its history. Seek out its quality. Style it in a way we feel most alive. Accessorize in a way that tells a story and decorate until our hearts are content.

We love ya'll. And we are so excited about this journey.

P.s. We really are the August sisters. Sara-Anne's birthday is August 4th and mine is on August 22nd. We are five years apart but it doesn't feel that way! Shoutout to the Leos.

Xoxo,

Hannah

Peaches to Beach

First Trip with The August Sisters

We packed our bags and hit the road for the longest Georgia's yard sale called Peaches to Beaches. We took highway 341, used only back roads and stopped at a lot of small towns. We love small towns; the simplistic charm, cafes and hidden gems like antique stores that we love to find. This trip was a Georgia trip so all the towns we stopped at we're pure Georgia peach towns such as; Barnesville, Roberta, Ft. Valley, Perry, McRae leading all the way east to Brunswick. I (Hannah) took my dog Mocha on this trip with us. This was her very first road trip and everyone at the yard sales loved her. She was a big hit! She even picked a couple of stuff herself. Her favorite item was her little stuffed-animal bear.

We found so many amazing vintage pieces on this trip. This trip was one of our inspirations to start The August Sisters lifestyle blog and Vintage online shop. Here are some pictures that we took along the way. Our last stop was Jekyll Island. The town and beach there is so beautiful! It's a must see. Oh and my dog, Mocha absolutely loved the beach. She was the cutest thing rolling in the sand and running alongside of the ocean. What a trip indeed. Have any of ya'll been to Peaches to Beaches? If so, let us know! We would love to hear about your trip as well. Did you find any amazing pieces along the way? This trip was so worth it. We definitely recommend it. Just know it's a lot of driving, lots of back roads, and lots of small towns. So don't expect too much. Just enjoy the journey, and take in the drive. AKA our favorite town was Perry. So shoutout to Perry, GA. Thanks for having us Peaches to Beaches. Enjoy of Pictures!

xoxo,

The August Sisters
